Let us never forget what happened 15 years ago today, Innocent men and women were killed in acts of terror at the two towers of the WTC, the Pentagon and a rural field in PA. I vividly remember I was driving through town when I heard on the radio of the plane crashing into one of the World Trade Center's building. I was headed to my daughter's restaurant as I usually did every day in 2001 to support and help her and her business. It was hard to comprehend what I was hearing. Was it an accident? Or something else. When I arrived at Friendz Coffee House, I discovered that those there were already watching the news on a TV that had been brought in. Everyone sat and watched in disbelief. A group of tourists from Germany came in and joined us in learning what had happened. They were as sad as we were learning what was happening. Then we heard the second plane hit the other tower and we all knew exactly what was happening. A little later the Pentagon was hit. It was war. We were attacked by the terrorists. How could something like this happen? Then another plane was in jeopardy and the people on that plane took action to prevent another building possibly the White House from being demolished. They commanded the plane and ended up crashing in a field in rural Pennsylvania. All of them died. The rest of the day we were glued to that TV and listening to anything that would help us grieve. I remember seeing people of Iranian descent who lived and worked in our country rejoicing at the despicable act. This in my opinion was the start of distrust and division that has happened in the land of the free and home of the brave. The news media has stoked the fire of division with all the political correctness and overtures to the Muslims and their religion while diminishing Christianity and God from our society. Schools were and are teaching about Muslims practices yet omitting God and Christian prayer in the classrooms. Crazy thinking is going on and our country is divided more than ever now focusing on police brutality and the new movement of Black Lives Matter. Division, division division continues in many ways. I pray that God will intercede and bring sanity back to the land that I love. It is hard to watch division and hatred when Jesus commanded us to Love One Another.
